Marcel Breuer Designed in 1926 by Marcel Breuer the Knoll 50LC Wassily Chair represents one of the major milestone events in furniture design; reducing the overstuffed sofas and chairs of the time to a simple skeletal frame with stretched cowhide slings forming the seat back and arm rests. When initially designed, the chair was at the cutting edge of design and manufacturing. The design only being possible due to the recent invention of seamless welded tubing. The Wassily chair was named after Breuer Bauhaus roomate Wassily Kandinsky.

Construction
Frame is seamless tubular steel with a polished chrome finish.
Natural canvas, Thick cowhide or Spinneybeck belting leather and haired hide.
Opaque, plastic, snap-in-place glides are included for optional insertion when used on hard floors.

Thick cowhide leather upholstery option is available in black, light brown or white beige colours.
Spinneybeck Belting Leather upholstery option is available in a wide range of neutral and bright colours.
Spinneybeck Haired Hide upholstery option is available in eight distinctive colorways, featuring tri-color (brown, black and white) and black and white haired hides, each revealing unique naturalistic markings.
Frame is polished chrome finish.
