Grand Prix - wooden legs
-
The Grand Prix is another chair in the Arne Jacobsen collection originally produced in 1957 by Fritz Hansen for the Designers Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen.
This chair can also be upholstered in various types of fabric and leather.
Read moreThe chair gained its title at the Triennale exhibition in Milan where it received the highest distinction called the Grand Prix. The chair has a minimalistic design and is a striking item either alone or accompanied. It was produced with wooden legs, however, these were later replaced by the metal undercarriage used on the 3107s.
Thanks to new production methods the Grand Prix Chair is now available in the original design, with wooden legs. Despite the affordable price, the chair remains exclusive. The attention to detail and the unique design create a bold and exceptional statement that makes the Grand Prix as relevant today as it was 50 years ago. The chair will blend elegantly into a wide variety of settings as a great example of furniture design that is able to influence and elevate an entire room by its mere presence and beauty. -
