The Eames Plastic Chair is an appealing classic, undoubtedly a product of stylish and practical design. The shell of the chair is made from polypropylene, an ecologically sound material which has replaced the original use of fiberglass-reinforced polyester.

The change in material from the original Fiberglass Chair was due to ecological problems after it was found to be non-recyclable, however this change did not affect the features and characteristics of this classic piece. The Eames aim of ensuring comfort is not forgotten in the structure of this product as the curved shell supports the body following the human shape. The Eames Plastic Chair remains an ideal product for either mass or individual use due to its classic yet stylish design and extensive colour choice.

COPY WATCH: We only sell genuine authorised original Eames. Most copies in the Eames plastic chair range have a shiny high gloss seat, whereas the originals have a matt surface. Also, the genuine chairs have a dyed-through polyproplene seat so the colour does not fade.
