Eero Aarnio Originals Ball Chair
-
The Ball Chair, also known as the Globe Chair, was designed by Eero Aarnio in 1963 and debuted at Cologne Furniture Fair in 1966. Originally designed with a black upholstery, it is an exemplary piece of sixties design, and one of the most iconic chairs of the 20th century. Its unconventional and striking design is very cozy to sit in, and it feels as if you are in your own private room. It can be found all over the world as its design has attracted many architects and designers. The prices below include packaging in a wooden crate for safe shipping from the factory in Finland.
Read moreWe are one of the only UK stockists of the genuine Ball Chair in the UK. Please be aware of companies selling copies, which are trying to give the impression that you are buying the real thing. Each authentic chair is made by hand in the original factory in Finland, with production techniques changing very little since it started in the 1960s. The Ball chair is made of fibreglass and finished with a 1mm thick layer of gelcoat, as used on boats, so as to ensure the chair will last for many years to come. Small scratches which may appear over time can therefore be polished out, to keep the chair in excellent condition.
The shell can be specified in white, black red or dark anthracite metallic. There are various fabric colour options to be combined with the white or black shell, but only black fabric can be combined with the red or dark anthracite shell.
We include the cost of a special wooden crate to ensure this chair arrives from the factory in mint condition. - Please see dimensions below and measure your access points carefully, both to access your property and all other doorways to access your room of choice.
