The shell of the chair is made from polypropylene, an ecologically sound material which has replaced the original use of fiberglass-reinforced polyester. The change in material from the original Fiberglass Chair was due to ecological problems after it was found to be non-recyclable, however this change did not affect the features and characteristics of this classic piece.
