The Platner Coffee Table was designed by Warren Platner for Knoll in 1966. Now this design icon is available in a stunning 18k gold plated finish. Warren Platner studied architecture at Cornell University. He worked closely with legendary designers Raymond Loewy, Eero Saarinen, and I. M. Pei, and soon after began designing steel wire furniture he is known for today. He also devised the method and tools to make the lounge chair in the line. His many notable residential and commercial projects include the Georg Jensen Design Center and the Windows on the World restaurant in the World Trade Center.

The Platner Collection has been in continuous production by Knoll since its launch in 1966. It has now had an update with the steel being produced in a dark bronze finish as well as the original nickel plating. Bronze glass and marble have been added to the range of top finishes.

Designed by Warren Platner, Knoll’s Platner Dining Table and Side Chair Collection featured in a cameo role in the finale of the recent Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
