We have a set of 2, Knoll Cesca chairs machine woven armless in black satin stain with cane inserts. The iconic Cesca Chair designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928 has been introduced in a new version. It is made of machine woven cane inserts and a classic cantilevered base with a chrome-plated finish.
Modern production techniques have enabled a new version of the chair to be produced using the same high-quality materials, with less hand finishing. As a result, the Cesca Chair New Version comes at a more affordable price point.
Please note that all stock is subject to availability. Our stock availability is updated regularly but if timing is critical, please double check with us before placing an order.
Protégé of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer embodied many of the School's distinctive concepts and was and one of the School's most famous students. He returned shortly thereafter to teach carpentry from 1925 to 1928, and during this time designed his tubular-steel furniture collection: functional, simple and distinctly modern. The Cesca chair was named after his daughter Francesca.
